TOUGH but TRUE

 

2 Timothy 3:16-17

King James Version

16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, 

and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, 

for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

17 That the man of God may be perfect, 

thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

The world continues as it does.

Thinking it's wise, warm, wonderful.

We don't realize how wicked we all are.

We don't realize how badly we are ALL in need of salvation.

We don't realize Who can really save us.

We have no idea how asleep, deceived, and foolish, we all are.

We have no idea the eternal danger we are all in.

Now is NOT the time to stray from GOD.

Now is NOT the time to scoff at Scripture.

Now is NOT the time to reject JESUS.

Now is the time to listen to the SPIRIT of GOD.

Now is the time to know EVERYTHING about GOD.

Now is the time to know the teachings of JESUS.

Only the SPIRIT of GOD can correct our thinking.

JESUS gave us the GIFT of His life.

He also left us the COMFORTER, to teach us:

John 16:7-15

King James Version

7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; 

It is expedient for you that I go away: 

for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; 

but if I depart, I will send him unto you.

8 And when he is come, 

he will reprove the world of sin, 

and of righteousness, and of judgment:

9 Of sin, because they believe not on me;

10 Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, 

and ye see me no more;

11 Of judgment, because the prince of this world 

is judged.

12 I have yet many things to say unto you, 

but ye cannot bear them now.

13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, 

he will guide you into all truth: 

for he shall not speak of himself; 

but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: 

and he will shew you things to come.

14 He shall glorify me: 

for he shall receive of mine, 

and shall shew it unto you.

15 All things that the Father hath are mine: 

therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, 

and shall shew it unto you.

As born again, I stand by what SPIRIT taught me.

Through these verses which I share with you now:

JESUS is the ONLY way to GOD.

John 14:6

6 Jesus saith unto him, 

I am the way, the truth, and the life: 

no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

JESUS is our SALVATION.

Acts 4:12

12 Neither is there salvation in any other: 

for there is none other name under heaven 

given among men, whereby we must be saved.

This is the MYSTERY of SALVATION, for both Jews and Gentiles.

Romans 11:25

25 For I would not, brethren, 

that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, 

lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; 

that blindness in part is happened to Israel, 

until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.

GOD sent JESUS to SAVE the world.

John 3:17

to condemn the world; 

but that the world through him might be saved.

WHY does the world NEED saving?

Romans 3:23

23 For all have sinned, 

and come short of the glory of God;

HOW do we get SAVED?

9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, 

and shalt believe in thine heart 

that God hath raised him from the dead,

Will ALL be SAVED?

hat call upon him.

13 For whosoever shall call 

upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

By GOD's GRACE are believers saved.

and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

There is only ONE GOD.

James 2:19

19 Thou believest that there is one God;

There is no POWER but of GOD.

Romans 13:1

For there is no power but of God:

GOD gave JESUS all POWER, in heaven, and in earth.

In JESUS is ETERNAL LIFE.

GOD is a SPIRIT.

We are to focus on JESUS alone.

We must be BORN AGAIN.

and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

The born again receives the SPIRIT of TRUTH.

John 14:16-17

17 Even the Spirit of truth; 

whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, 

neither knoweth him: but ye know him; 

for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

We must be CHILDLIKE with GOD.

Matthew 18:3

Verily I say unto you, 

Except ye be converted, 

and become as little children, 

ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

We are to LOVE GOD.

Mark 12:29-30

29 And Jesus answered him, 

The first of all the commandments is, 

Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:

30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God 

with all thy heart, 

and with all thy soul, 

and with all thy mind, 

and with all thy strength: 

this is the first commandment.

We are to LOVE one other.

John 13:34-35

34 A new commandment I give unto you, 

That ye love one another; as I have loved you, 

that ye also love one another.

35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, 

if ye have love one to another.

GOD doesn't want ANYONE to perish.

2 Peter 3:9

9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, 

as some men count slackness; 

but is longsuffering to us-ward, 

not willing that any should perish, 

but that all should come to repentance.

But the WICKED shall PERISH.

Psalm 37:20

into smoke shall they consume away.

The WORLD hates JESUS.

John 15:18

This is WHY the world hates JESUS.

John 7:7

7 The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, 

because I testify of it, that the works thereof are evil.

WHY we are NOT to love the WORLD's ways.

Luke 16:15

Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; 

but God knoweth your hearts: 

for that which is highly esteemed among men 

is abomination in the sight of God.

VENGEANCE belongs to the LORD.

Romans 12:19

but rather give place unto wrath: 

for it is written, 

Vengeance is mine; 

I will repay, saith the Lord.

There is one UNFORGIVABLE sin.

Mark 3:28-29

All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, 

and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme:

29 But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost 

hath never forgiveness, 

but is in danger of eternal damnation.

This sin is UNFORGIVABLE for it blasphemes JESUS.

Mark 3:30

He hath an unclean spirit.

HOW a BELIEVER's life will be on earth.

John 16:33

33 These things I have spoken unto you, 

that in me ye might have peace. 

In the world ye shall have tribulation: 

but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

We are fighting a war with demons on earth.

Ephesians 2:1-2

2 And you hath he quickened, 

who were dead in trespasses and sins;

2 Wherein in time past ye walked 

according to the course of this world, 

according to the prince of the power of the air, 

the spirit that now worketh 

in the children of disobedience:

We need to put on the ARMOR of GOD to fight this battle.

12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, 

but against principalities, against powers, 

against the rulers of the darkness of this world,

having your loins girt about with truth,

ISRAEL is the APPLE of GOD's eye.

Zechariah 2:8

toucheth the apple of his eye.

GOD commands us to LOVE Israel.

Genesis 12:3

and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

JESUS knows if YOU are HIS.

John 10:27-28

27 My sheep hear my voice, 

and I know them, and they follow me:

neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

JESUS is the WORD of GOD.

John 1:14

14 And the Word was made flesh, 

and dwelt among us, 

(and we beheld his glory, 

the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) 

full of grace and truth.

There is nothing more powerful than the WORD of GOD.

Hebrews 4:12

12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, 

and sharper than any twoedged sword, 

piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, 

and of the joints and marrow, 

and is a discerner 

of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

The WORD is ALL that will REMAIN.

Matthew 24:35

35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, 

but my words shall not pass away.

Without JESUS, we are NOT capable of doing anything.

John 15:5

5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: 

He that abideth in me, and I in him, 

the same bringeth forth much fruit: 

for without me ye can do nothing.

The RAPTURE can happen ANY moment.

Matthew 24:39-42

39 And knew not until the flood came, 

and took them all away; 

so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

40 Then shall two be in the field; 

the one shall be taken, and the other left.

41 Two women shall be grinding at the mill; 

the one shall be taken, and the other left.

42 Watch therefore: 

for ye know not what hour 

your Lord doth come.

Only GOD knows the day, or the hour.

Mark 13:32

32 But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, 

no, not the angels which are in heaven, 

neither the Son, but the Father.

The PARADOX of that day, or hour.

Matthew 24:44

44 Therefore be ye also ready: 

for in such an hour as ye think not 

the Son of man cometh.

GOD is MASTER of TIME.

2 Peter 3:8

8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, 

that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, 

and a thousand years as one day.

Commit all these to heart.

We will be needing it in these most challenging times.

Only the WORD of GOD can give us the assurance we need.

In SUMMARY, according to king David, wicked men produce:

oppression of the wicked

they cast iniquity upon me

in wrath they hate me

violence and strife

Day and night they go about it 

mischief

deceit and guile

they have no changes

they fear not God

war was in his heart

yet were they drawn swords

bloody and deceitful men

That's but a small sampling of man's wickedness.

From which the world is reeling.

On the road to destruction.

We look at the world, and we wonder why it's in deep chaos.

We look to our lives, and we wonder if it could be better.

We look to those suffering, and we ask if GOD knows.

Of course, the LORD does.

He is not indifferent to us.

We have been indifferent to Him.

He has been steady, as a ROCK.

We have been going this way, and that.

He has been faithful to us.

We have strayed from Him.

The OFFENDING eye

 Mark 9:47-48

King James Version

47 And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: 

it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God 

with one eye, 

than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire:

48 Where their worm dieth not, 

and the fire is not quenched.

Many parts of the Bible can be taken literally.

But there's this particular verse, which cannot be taken literally.

This Bible version explains what "plucking out an offending eye" means:

Mark 9:47-48

Amplified Bible

47 If your eye causes you to stumble and sin, 

throw it out [that is, 

remove yourself from the source of temptation]! 

It would be better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye, 

than to have two eyes and be thrown into hell, 

48 where their worm [that feeds on the dead] does not die, 

and the fire is not put out.

In SUMMARY, "plucking out an offending eye" means:

throw it out [that is, remove yourself from the source of temptation]

What I understand the verse to mean is that if your eye causes you to sin, you leave the scene of the sin.

How you see with your eye is important.

Look to what JESUS said:

Matthew 5:28

28 But I say unto you, 

That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her 

hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

Luke 11:34

King James Version

34 The light of the body is the eye: 

therefore when thine eye is single, 

thy whole body also is full of light; 

but when thine eye is evil, 

thy body also is full of darkness.

In place of sin, these you can do:

SUBMIT yourself to GOD.

James 4:7

King James Version

7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. 

Resist the devil, 

and he will flee from you.

FLEE evil.

1 Thessalonians 5:22

King James Version

22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.

23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; 

and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body 

be preserved blameless 

unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace,

The true born again only cares to follow what JESUS commanded:

On CHOOSING saints

1 Corinthians 14:33

We do not have the power to choose saints.

We do not have the power to canonize them.

How can we, when only GOD can?

How can we, when we are sinful ourselves.

and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart

6 And it repented the Lord
