What it TAKES to KNOW GOD

James 4:8

King James Version

8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you.

Cleanse your hands, ye sinners;

and purify your hearts, ye double minded.

It is a journey.

This knowing about GOD.

Are you prepared to take the path?

Are you prepared to experience the glorious riches which the world can never offer?

First, desire to really know GOD.

Who is He?

What is He?

What does it take to know the LORD?

Acknowledge what apostle Paul declared:

1 Corinthians 10:21

King James Version

21 Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord,

and the cup of devils:

ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table,

and of the table of devils.

You must make a decision.

That means you turn away from sin.

That means you will not want to sin anymore.

That means you will want to know GOD's holy ways, and not the world's deceptive ways anymore.

When you do, GOD will show up in His own time, in His own manner, in a way meant solely for you.

Salvation is for our souls.

Thus, our journeys will all be different.

Cherish the journey.

Stay on the path.

Be patient.

Pray to know.

Wait, watch, listen.

Second, become born again.

JESUS commanded we be born again.

John 3:1-8

King James Version

3 There was a man of the Pharisees,

named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:

2 The same came to Jesus by night,

and said unto him, Rabbi,

we know that thou art a teacher come from God:

for no man can do these miracles that thou doest,

except God be with him.

3 Jesus answered and said unto him,

Verily, verily, I say unto thee,

Except a man be born again,

he cannot see the kingdom of God.

4 Nicodemus saith unto him,

How can a man be born when he is old?

can he enter the second time

into his mother's womb, and be born?

5 Jesus answered,

Verily, verily, I say unto thee,

Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit

he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh;

and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

7 Marvel not that I said unto thee,

Ye must be born again.

8 The wind bloweth where it listeth,

and thou hearest the sound thereof,

but canst not tell whence it cometh,

and whither it goeth: so is every one

that is born of the Spirit.

As born again, you become a new person in CHRIST:

2 Corinthians 5:17

King James Version

17 Therefore if any man be in Christ,

he is a new creature:

old things are passed away;

behold, all things are become new.

Why through CHRIST?

John 14:6

King James Version

6 Jesus saith unto him,

I am the way, the truth, and the life:

no man cometh unto the Father,

but by me.

John 14:7-9

King James Version

7 If ye had known me,

ye should have known my Father also:

and from henceforth ye know him,

and have seen him.

8 Philip saith unto him,

Lord, show us the Father, and it sufficeth us.

9 Jesus saith unto him,

Have I been so long time with you,

and yet hast thou not known me, Philip?

he that hath seen me hath seen the Father;

and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father?

Colossians 2:9

King James Version

9 For in him dwelleth

all the fulness of the Godhead

bodily.

JESUS is the Way back to GOD.

We must take the path JESUS paved.

Matthew 7:13-14

King James Version

13 Enter ye in at the strait gate:

for wide is the gate, and broad is the way,

that leadeth to destruction,

and many there be which go in thereat:

14 Because strait is the gate,

and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life,

and few there be that find it.

And it is not just any "life".

We are talking about ETERNAL LIFE with JESUS.

John 3:16-17

King James Version

16 For God so loved the world,

that he gave his only begotten Son,

that whosoever believeth in him

should not perish,

but have everlasting life.

17 For God sent not his Son into the world

to condemn the world; but that the world

through him might be saved.

We are to take up our cross daily.

Matthew 16:24-26

King James Version

24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples,

If any man will come after me, let him deny himself,

and take up his cross, and follow me.

25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it:

and whosoever will lose his life for my sake

shall find it.

26 For what is a man profited,

if he shall gain the whole world,

and lose his own soul?

or what shall a man give

in exchange for his soul?

Luke 14:27

King James Version

27 And whosoever doth not bear his cross,

and come after me, cannot be my disciple.

Third, die to self, Satan, and sin.

Aim for holiness, and perfection.

It's what GOD commanded His people.

Leviticus 19:1-2

King James Version

19 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

2 Speak unto all the congregation

of the children of Israel, and say unto them,

Ye shall be holy:

for I the Lord your God am holy.

It's what JESUS commanded all of us.

Matthew 5:48

King James Version

48 Be ye therefore perfect,

even as your Father

which is in heaven

is perfect.

Fourth, repent of your sins.

It's the most painful thing to acknowledge how we've turned away from GOD, and hurt others, and ourselves.

But it's a necessary step to take, in our getting to know GOD.

For He is merciful, and loving.

Shun all sins, known, and unknown.

Ask for forgiveness, and do one last thing:

John 5:12-14

King James Version

12 Then asked they him,

What man is that which said unto thee,

Take up thy bed, and walk?

13 And he that was healed wist not who it was:

for Jesus had conveyed himself away,

a multitude being in that place.

14 Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple,

and said unto him,

Behold, thou art made whole:

sin no more,

lest a worse thing come unto thee.

John 8:10-11

King James Version

10 When Jesus had lifted up himself,

and saw none but the woman, he said unto her,

Woman, where are those thine accusers?

hath no man condemned thee?

11 She said, No man, Lord.

And Jesus said unto her,

Neither do I condemn thee:

go, and sin no more.

Fifth, approach GOD, as a child would.

As this workman keeps saying -- "Knowing nothing, but wanting to know EVERYTHING".

Be hungry for GOD's TRUTH.

Being childlike at heart, makes us "teachable".

Something that surely delights the LORD.

Look at how He considers children:

Mark 10:13-16

King James Version

13 And they brought young children to him,

that he should touch them:

and his disciples rebuked those that brought them.

14 But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased,

and said unto them, Suffer the little children

to come unto me, and forbid them not:

for of such is the kingdom of God.

15 Verily I say unto you,

Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God

as a little child, he shall not enter therein.

16 And he took them up in his arms,

put his hands upon them,

and blessed them.

To recap:

First, desire to really know GOD.

Second, become born again.

Third, die, to self, Satan, and sin.

Fourth, repent of your sins.

Fifth, approach GOD, as a child would.

There can be no alibis, or excuses, if you really want to know GOD.

We only need to have a real desire to know the LORD.

JESUS declared the FIRST commandment:

Matthew 22:37-38

King James Version

37 Jesus said unto him,

Thou shalt love the Lord thy God

with all thy heart,

and with all thy soul,

and with all thy mind.

38 This is the first and

great commandment.

If we have the grace, and courage, to want to know GOD, it's because we want to be with Him -- forever.

And that we're deeply disappointed with the world for its lies, and illusions.

Just know that when you're born of the SPIRIT -- as born again -- the HOLY SPIRIT will teach you everything you need to know about the TRIUNE GOD.

All will be made clear.

You will know GOD's TRUTH.

What to rely upon?

Knowing how I love simplicity, precision, and "bullet points" so I may teach as simply, the HOLY SPIRIT led me to a simple "formula/guide" about Who the Triune GOD Is.

This, He made me "stumble" upon, nearly two years after He made me born again:

"GOD for grace,

JESUS for healing, and

SPIRIT for teaching."

-- "SURPRISE from SPIRIT"

Together, They work as ONE.

If it had taken this born again watchman/workman at least thousands of articles, and 113 blogs created through SPIRIT since 2019, then you can imagine the TREASURES from GOD's SPIRIT, which I'm pretty sure I've barely covered.

Proof?

Read what apostle John wrote of JESUS:

John 21:25

King James Version

25 And there are also many other things

which Jesus did, the which,

if they should be written every one,

I suppose that even the world itself

could not contain the books

that should be written. Amen.

The desire to know GOD is the ONLY thing that matters in this world.

The enemy will make sure you stray from that path.

It takes a persistent heart to know ABSOLUTE TRUTH.

If that is your initial search, then you're really looking for GOD.

And when you "find" Him, you will never be the same person again.

You will be a new person in CHRIST.

You will finally begin to know GOD, through CHRIST, the HOLY SPIRIT, and Scripture.

The world cannot offer you anything so majestic.

JESUS did promise:

Matthew 7:7-8

King James Version

7 Ask, and it shall be given you;

seek, and ye shall find;

knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

8 For every one that asketh receiveth;

and he that seeketh findeth;

and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

Some COMFORTING articles

Hebrews 10:36-37

King James Version

36 For ye have need of patience, that,

after ye have done the will of God,

ye might receive the promise.

37 For yet a little while,

and he that shall come will come,

and will not tarry.

I know the world's in dire need of comfort these days.

It's as if nothing makes sense anymore.

The chaos, crime, cruelty, needless deaths.

Watching how everyday Iranian people are currently fighting for their freedom, and getting massacred for it, tore at my heart.

Watching how their families chose to sing, and dance, even as they grieved for their loved ones, tore it even further.

Watching, as they waited for help, hoping alongside them, and praying for all oppressed people fill my heart each day.

All of us who have gone through the pain of losing loved ones know grief.

But not many have experienced what many families, in many parts of the world, feel under those brutal circumstances.

This, as whole families, tribes, villages, towns, and cities have suffered terribly, in pursuit of truth, justice, and freedom.

Or of how many believers have perished for their faith.

But it's that very faith in CHRIST that will keep us going.

I, too, have known grief, the past four years.

Save for the GRACE of GOD, I'd have remained shattered.

So I just remind myself what the HOLY SPIRIT taught me:

Ecclesiastes 12:7-9

King James Version

7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was:

and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

As GOD tasked me to write, my only recourse was to honor my loved ones, and turn to Him to make sense of things:

STRENGTH in the MIDST of GRIEF

ODE to WARRIORS

With GOD giving me strength through His SPIRIT, this workman managed to write so much more.

These articles helped me get through the tough times, knowing life had to go on, my work had to continue, and to give people comfort as well.

We watchmen are warriors for CHRIST, soldiers in His army.

We have to keep going, and help others along the way, each day

All these articles have been written through the guidance of the TRIUNE GOD, and Scripture -- which all equipped me with strength, soul, and spirit.

These will help you make sense of things, too:

The PURPOSE of affliction

COMFORTING the afflicted

For GOD's PERFECT PURPOSE

The REFINER's FIRE

CONQUERING the LAST enemy

OUR times are in GOD's HAND

JESUS comforts the GRIEVING

To better understand grief, affliction, the fragility of life, and the ways of GOD, we must remember what He said:

Isaiah 55:8-11

King James Version

8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts,

neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.

9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth,

so are my ways higher than your ways,

and my thoughts than your thoughts.

10 For as the rain cometh down,

and the snow from heaven,

and returneth not thither,

but watereth the earth,

and maketh it bring forth and bud,

that it may give seed to the sower,

and bread to the eater:

11 So shall my word be

that goeth forth out of my mouth:

it shall not return unto me void,

but it shall accomplish that which I please,

and it shall prosper in the thing

whereto I sent it.

Remember, too, eternal life -- for believers:

John 3:14-15

King James Version

14 And as Moses lifted up

the serpent in the wilderness,

even so must the Son of man be lifted up:

15 That whosoever believeth in him

should not perish,

but have eternal life.

Therein lies my comfort.

That GOD is in charge.

That everything belongs to Him.

That He gave all power to JESUS.

That He gave His SPIRIT to comfort us.

That He is STEADY.

That He has given His TRUTH.

That only His WORD will remain -- FOREVER.

GOD said so:

Isaiah 40:8

King James Version

8 The grass withereth, the flower fadeth:

but the word of our God shall stand for ever.

JESUS said so:

Matthew 24:35

King James Version

35 Heaven and earth shall pass away,

but my words shall not pass away.

Find your faith in CHRIST.

Why Israel WILL survive

 Romans 11:18

King James Version

18 Boast not against the branches.

But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root,

but the root thee.

We could really write a whole book on Israel.

On this chosen nation of GOD.

On her ability to manage her nation.

On her ability to survive.

As if GOD's hand is upon her.

Or is it?

We shall find out.

From her reality.

And from Scripture.

Israel's reality:

When you're a David, you know how to deal with a Goliath, no matter if Goliath has many brothers.

When nations hate you, you don't hate them back.

When nations go on the offense, you go on the defense.

When you've been at war too long, you know how to survive.

When your government is being crushed from within, you know it is the enemy's infiltration, trying to weaken you from within.

When you have no friends, you know it doesn't matter. GOD is your FRIEND. What better friend can one have?

When others try to withhold supplies from you, you know you have to make your own.

When others try to weaken your resolve, you know it is a trick from the enemy.

When others try to bully you, you know you must work from your strengths.

When others spread lies about you, you remain in your own truth.

When others want to destroy you, you know you must survive.

This is the miracle that is Israel.

Ganged up on all fronts.

And yet she survives.

Through the MIGHTY HAND of GOD.

Even as she hasn't acknowledged JESUS, the MESSIAH.

GOD's will be done, through her.

She is meant to live, thrive, and survive.

She is meant to have a "remnant".

She cannot be destroyed.

She lives, for GOD's purpose.

For Himself.

Deuteronomy 14:2

King James Version

2 For thou art an holy people

unto the Lord thy God,

and the Lord hath chosen thee

to be a peculiar people unto himself,

above all the nations that are upon the earth.

Isaiah 43:21

King James Version

21 This people have I formed for myself;

they shall shew forth my praise.

1 Peter 2:9

King James Version

9 But ye are a chosen generation,

a royal priesthood,

an holy nation,

a peculiar people;

that ye should shew forth the praises of him

who hath called you out of darkness

into his marvellous light;

Israel is not perfect.

But GOD loves her anyway.

She has sinned against GOD too many times.

GOD judges her, she repents, then He forgives her.

She still doesn't acknowledge JESUS, the MESSIAH.

But JESUS died for her anyway.

She is the center of Satan's evil eye.

Because she is the APPLE of GOD's eye.

Do you now see what all this battle is about?

It's about JESUS, and Satan.

As it has always been.

Israel is hated, because GOD loves her.

Hatred has always been the work of Satan.

All that GOD loves, Satan will destroy.

At his own peril.

Satan truly has a learning disability.

He has not learned the first time.

So he hasn't, to this day.

But GOD's will be done.

Israel is for GOD's GLORY.

As everything is.

Right from the start.

JESUS taught us that.

EVERYTHING for GOD's GLORY.

It was never for any man's glory.

Much less for Satan.

LOOK to GOD

Colossians 3:1-2

King James Version

3 If ye then be risen with Christ,

seek those things which are above,

where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

2 Set your affection on things above,

not on things on the earth.

Why are we to put our trust in GOD, and not man?

Why should we take counsel from the LORD?

Why must we focus on GOD alone?

Why should we follow GOD?

SPIRIT led me to these verses.

Which explains everything.

Very simply.

GOD is eternal, and infallible.

Psalm 18:2

King James Version

2 The Lord is my rock,

and my fortress,

and my deliverer;

my God,

my strength,

in whom I will trust;

my buckler,

and the horn of my salvation,

and my high tower.

Psalm 118:5-9

King James Version

5 I called upon the Lord in distress:

the Lord answered me, and set me in a large place.

6 The Lord is on my side;

I will not fear: what can man do unto me?

7 The Lord taketh my part with them that help me:

therefore shall I see my desire upon them

that hate me.

8 It is better to trust in the Lord

than to put confidence in man.

9 It is better to trust in the Lord

than to put confidence in princes.

Proverbs 16:9

King James Version

9 A man's heart deviseth his way:

but the Lord directeth his steps.

Proverbs 21:2

King James Version

2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes:

but the Lord pondereth the hearts.

Proverbs 29:25

King James Version

25 The fear of man bringeth a snare:

but whoso putteth his trust in the Lord

shall be safe.

Proverbs 29:26

King James Version

26 Many seek the ruler's favour;

but every man's judgment

cometh from the Lord.

Isaiah 55:8-9

King James Version

8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts,

neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.

9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth,

so are my ways higher than your ways,

and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Matthew 10:28

King James Version

28 And fear not them which kill the body,

but are not able to kill the soul:

but rather fear him which is able to destroy

both soul and body in hell.

John 5:44

King James Version

44 How can ye believe,

which receive honour one of another,

and seek not the honour

that cometh from God only?

John 15:5

King James Version

5 I am the vine,

ye are the branches:

He that abideth in me, and I in him,

the same bringeth forth much fruit:

for without me ye can do nothing.

Acts 4:19-20

King James Version

19 But Peter and John answered

and said unto them,

Whether it be right in the sight of God

to hearken unto you more than unto God,

judge ye.

20 For we cannot but speak the things

which we have seen and heard.

Acts 5:29-32

King James Version

29 Then Peter and the other apostles answered

and said,

We ought to obey God rather than men.

30 The God of our fathers raised up Jesus,

whom ye slew and hanged on a tree.

31 Him hath God exalted with his right hand

to be a Prince and a Saviour,

for to give repentance to Israel,

and forgiveness of sins.

32 And we are his witnesses of these things;

and so is also the Holy Ghost,

whom God hath given to them that obey him.

Romans 2:29

King James Version

29 But he is a Jew,

which is one inwardly;

and circumcision is that of the heart,

in the spirit,

and not in the letter;

whose praise is not of men,

but of God.

Romans 8:1

King James Version

8 There is therefore now no condemnation

to them which are in Christ Jesus,

who walk not after the flesh,

but after the Spirit.

Romans 8:4

King James Version

4 That the righteousness of the law

might be fulfilled in us,

who walk not after the flesh,

but after the Spirit.

Romans 14:17-19

King James Version

17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink;

but righteousness,

and peace,

and joy in the Holy Ghost.

18 For he that in these things serveth Christ

is acceptable to God,

and approved of men.

19 Let us therefore follow after the things

which make for peace,

and things wherewith one may edify another.

1 Corinthians 10:31

King James Version

31 Whether therefore ye eat,

or drink,

or whatsoever ye do,

do all to the glory of God.

Philippians 2:13-16

King James Version

13 For it is God which worketh in you both

to will and to do of his good pleasure.

14 Do all things

without murmurings and disputings:

15 That ye may be blameless and harmless,

the sons of God,

without rebuke,

in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation,

among whom ye shine as lights in the world;

16 Holding forth the word of life;

that I may rejoice in the day of Christ,

that I have not run in vain,

neither laboured in vain.

Colossians 3:23-24

King James Version

23 And whatsoever ye do,

do it heartily, as to the Lord,

and not unto men;

24 Knowing that of the Lord

ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance:

for ye serve the Lord Christ.

1 Thessalonians 2:4

King James Version

4 But as we were allowed of God

to be put in trust with the gospel,

even so we speak;

not as pleasing men, but God,

which trieth our hearts.

1 Thessalonians 4:1

King James Version

4 Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren,

and exhort you by the Lord Jesus,

that as ye have received of us

how ye ought to walk and to please God,

so ye would abound more and more.

Hebrews 11:6

King James Version

6 But without faith it is impossible to please him:

for he that cometh to God must believe that he is,

and that he is a rewarder of them

that diligently seek him.

Man is mortal, and fallible.

1 Samuel 15:24

King James Version

24 And Saul said unto Samuel,

I have sinned:

for I have transgressed

the commandment of the Lord,

and thy words:

because I feared the people,

and obeyed their voice.

Psalm 146:3-4

King James Version

3 Put not your trust in princes,

nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help.

4 His breath goeth forth,

he returneth to his earth;

in that very day his thoughts perish.

Isaiah 2:22

King James Version

22 Cease ye from man,

whose breath is in his nostrils:

for wherein is he to be accounted of ?

Isaiah 51:7-8

King James Version

7 Hearken unto me,

ye that know righteousness,

the people in whose heart is my law;

fear ye not the reproach of men,

neither be ye afraid of their revilings.

8 For the moth shall eat them up like a garment,

and the worm shall eat them like wool:

but my righteousness shall be for ever,

and my salvation from generation to generation.

Isaiah 51:12

King James Version

12 I, even I,

am he that comforteth you:

who art thou,

that thou shouldest be afraid

of a man that shall die,

and of the son of man

which shall be made as grass;

Jeremiah 17:5

King James Version

5 Thus saith the Lord;

Cursed be the man that trusteth in man,

and maketh flesh his arm,

and whose heart departeth from the Lord.

Matthew 15:19-20

King James Version

19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts,

murders, adulteries, fornications,

thefts, false witness, blasphemies:

20 These are the things which defile a man:

but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man.

Matthew 24:4-5

King James Version

4 And Jesus answered and said unto them,

Take heed that no man deceive you.

5 For many shall come in my name,

saying,

I am Christ;

and shall deceive many.

Matthew 24:23-24

King James Version

23 Then if any man shall say unto you,

Lo, here is Christ, or there;

believe it not.

24 For there shall arise false Christs,

and false prophets,

and shall shew great signs and wonders;

insomuch that, if it were possible,

they shall deceive the very elect.

Matthew 24:26-27

King James Version

26 Wherefore if they shall say unto you,

Behold, he is in the desert;

go not forth:

behold, he is in the secret chambers;

believe it not.

27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east,

and shineth even unto the west;

so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Luke 6:26

King James Version

26 Woe unto you,

when all men shall speak well of you!

for so did their fathers to the false prophets.

Luke 16:15

King James Version

15 And he said unto them,

Ye are they which justify yourselves before men;

but God knoweth your hearts:

for that which is highly esteemed among men

is abomination in the sight of God.

Romans 3:9-10

King James Version

9 What then?

are we better than they?

No, in no wise:

for we have before proved

both Jews and Gentiles,

that they are all under sin;

10 As it is written,

There is none righteous,

no, not one:

Romans 3:23

King James Version

23 For all have sinned,

and come short of the glory of God;

Romans 8:5-8

King James Version

5 For they that are after the flesh

do mind the things of the flesh;

but they that are after the Spirit

the things of the Spirit.

6 For to be carnally minded is death;

but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God:

for it is not subject to the law of God,

neither indeed can be.

8 So then they that are in the flesh

cannot please God.

Romans 12:2

King James Version

2 And be not conformed to this world:

but be ye transformed

by the renewing of your mind,

that ye may prove what is that good,

and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Galatians 1:8-10

King James Version

8 But though we,

or an angel from heaven,

preach any other gospel unto you

than that which we have preached unto you,

let him be accursed.

9 As we said before, so say I now again,

if any man preach any other gospel unto you

than that ye have received,

let him be accursed.

10 For do I now persuade men, or God?

or do I seek to please men?

for if I yet pleased men,

I should not be the servant of Christ.

Ephesians 5:6-12

King James Version

6 Let no man deceive you with vain words:

for because of these things cometh the wrath of God

upon the children of disobedience.

7 Be not ye therefore partakers with them.

8 For ye were sometimes darkness,

but now are ye light in the Lord:

walk as children of light:

9 (For the fruit of the Spirit

is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)

10 Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.

11 And have no fellowship

with the unfruitful works of darkness,

but rather reprove them.

12 For it is a shame even to speak of those things

which are done of them in secret.

Colossians 2:8-10

King James Version

8 Beware lest any man spoil you

through philosophy and vain deceit,

after the tradition of men,

after the rudiments of the world,

and not after Christ.

9 For in him dwelleth

all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

10 And ye are complete in him,

which is the head of all principality

and power:

Colossians 2:18

King James Version

18 Let no man beguile you of your reward

in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels,

intruding into those things which he hath not seen,

vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,

1 Timothy 4:7

King James Version

7 But refuse profane and old wives' fables,

and exercise thyself rather unto godliness.

James 4:4

King James Version

4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses,

know ye not that the friendship of the world

is enmity with God?

whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world

is the enemy of God.
