TRUTH about PRAYER

Matthew 18:3

King James Version

3 And said,

Verily I say unto you,

Except ye be converted,

and become as little children,

ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Oftentimes, the simplest things, can be the hardest things.

Such as knowing how to pray, and what to pray for.

The true born again knows how, and what.

SPIRIT and Scripture made it simple for us -- through JESUS.

The LORD taught us how to pray, just in this first verse alone:

Luke 11:2

King James Version

2 And he said unto them,

When ye pray, say,

Our Father which art in heaven,

Hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come.

Thy will be done,

as in heaven, so in earth.

Apostle John supports the LORD's command:

1 John 5:14

King James Version

14 And this is the confidence that we have in him,

that, if we ask any thing according to his will,

he heareth us:

Apostle Paul gives us something specific, too:

1 Thessalonians 5:18

King James Version

18 In every thing give thanks:

for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus

concerning you.

Notice anything with the three verses?

It's immediately apparent, really.

All that matters is the WILL of GOD.

When JESUS went back to heaven, He sent us His SPIRIT.

That we won't feel lost, sad, or orphaned.

Here's what SPIRIT can help us with, regarding prayer:

Romans 8:26-27

King James Version

26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities:

for we know not what we should pray for as we ought:

but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us

with groanings which cannot be uttered.

27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth

what is the mind of the Spirit,

because he maketh intercession for the saints

according to the will of God.

Again, it's "according to the will of God".

Children will understand the LORD's command.

For they look up to their parents, for guidance.

If you're born again, you'd teach them to know GOD's WILL.

Who is GOD, but the FATHER?

Obedience to the FATHER's will is key to prayer.

Kids can easily grasp this simple concept.

It's only adults who resist.

Thinking they are wise.

And yes, they are willful.

Still, GOD's will be done.
